The Playbook for healing environments is a spatial decision-making guide book, containing the spatial strategy to transform De Grote Beek into a sustainable healing environment. The strategy was developed on commission of GGzE, one of the largest mental health organisations in The Netherlands. Developing a healing environment is not only about how the place looks, but also about how it changes and develops. Healing is a process, and so a healing environment is about making space and time for inclusion, learning and adaptation. The strategy consists of four chapters visualising and describing the actions that can be taken over a few weeks, months, years and decades.
In 2021, the Playbook for healing environments was published in Dutch and English on commission by Joep Verbugt. It is intended as a strategic guidebook to help and inspire the transformation of GGz Eindhoven's headquarters into a sustainable healing environment. For Landgoed De Grote Beek, the Playbook has supported the continuity of the vision as well as its continued development.
It has become a reference for many decision-makers and designers working on long-term inclusive transformations of communities and landscapes. Reaching beyond its Eindhoven context, across the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the USA.

Het Draaiboek voor Helende Omgevingen is een ruimtelijke strategische gids waarin de strategie wordt beschreven om De Grote Beek te transformeren tot een duurzame healing environment. De strategie werd ontwikkeld in opdracht van GGzE, een van de grootste ggz-organisaties van Nederland. Een healing environment gaat niet alleen over hoe een plek eruitziet, maar ook over hoe zij verandert en zich ontwikkelt. Helen is een proces; een healing environment vraagt daarom om ruimte en tijd voor inclusie, leren en aanpassing. De strategie bestaat uit vier hoofdstukken die de acties visualiseren en beschrijven die kunnen worden ondernomen over enkele weken, maanden, jaren en zelfs decennia.
In 2021 werd het Draaiboek voor Helende Omgevingen in zowel het Nederlands als Engels gepubliceerd, in opdracht van Joep Verbugt. Het is bedoeld als een strategische leidraad om de transformatie van het hoofdterrein van GGz Eindhoven naar een duurzame healing environment te ondersteunen en inspireren. Voor Landgoed De Grote Beek heeft het Playbook zowel de continuïteit van de visie als de verdere doorontwikkeling ervan versterkt.
Het is uitgegroeid tot een referentie voor vele besluitvormers en ontwerpers die werken aan langetermijntransformaties van gemeenschappen en landschappen, gericht op inclusie en duurzaamheid — niet alleen in Eindhoven, maar ook elders in Nederland, België, Duitsland en de Verenigde Staten.
